You’ve taken an interest in smart home technology and ordered a Sonoff smart switch or relay online. You excitedly opened the box and unscrewed the junction box cover, but then what? The wires are a mess, the device won't pair, or the lights are flickering on and off by themselves.
You are not alone. As Enoras, we have compiled the chronic problems and solutions we encounter in many structures, from Ankara's old buildings to modern plazas. Whether you use Xiaomi, Aqara, or Novato; the logic is the same, and we have the solution.

Problem 1: "No Neutral Wire in the Box!" (The Most Common Issue) In 80% of residential buildings in Ankara, the light switch box (the housing inside the wall) does not contain a neutral wire. It only contains the live wire coming in and the load wire going to the lamp. However, most smart relays require a neutral line to operate.
Solution:
Using a Capacitor: If you have purchased a standard Sonoff relay, you must connect the capacitor included in the box to the lamp side.
Choosing the Right Product: If there is no neutral in your box, you should opt for the Sonoff Mini R4 (Extreme version) or "No-Neutral" models. These devices can function without a neutral line.
Problem 2: "I Installed the Device, but the Lights are Flickering" You have connected the smart relay and everything seems to be working, but the LEDs are slightly flashing or flickering even when the lamp is off.
Solution: This issue is caused by very low currents leaking from the circuit and triggering the LED bulb. The solution is to install a bypass module (capacitor) at the lamp socket (between L and N). As the Enoras technical team, we use this module as a standard in our projects within Ankara.
Problem 3: I Cannot Control Office Lighting Groups Individually In offices or large halls, there are usually 4-5 different lighting groups (spotlights, hidden LEDs, chandeliers, etc.). Using individual Mini R4 Smart Relays for each group won't fit inside the junction box and becomes costly.
Solution: DIN Rail Mounting This is where the Sonoff 4CHPROR3 4-Channel Smart Relay comes to the rescue. This device is not installed behind the wall switch, but inside your office's electrical fuse box (panel) using a rail system.
You can control 4 different lines with a single device.
There is no cable clutter since it is managed from the panel.
It can be managed via RF remote control even if the internet goes down.

Problem 4: "Device Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi" (2.4GHz vs 5GHz Error) Your modem might be very new and fast. However, 99% of Sonoff, Novato, or similar smart home products require a 2.4GHz band during the setup phase. If you attempt to install the device while your phone is connected to a 5GHz network, you will receive a "Device not found" error.
Solution: Separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz broadcasts from your modem settings or temporarily disable 5GHz during the installation.
Comparison: Why Sonoff Instead of Xiaomi or Aqara? A question we frequently hear from our customers is: "Should I buy a Xiaomi smart home kit?" While Xiaomi and Aqara ecosystems are excellent, they require an additional "Gateway" (Hub/Bridge) device to function. In other words, you cannot just buy a single switch and use it; you must purchase the "brain" first.
The Sonoff Advantage: Sonoff products (mostly) work directly over Wi-Fi. They connect directly to your modem without the need to purchase an extra box or hub. This results in a lower initial startup cost.
Frequently Asked Questions The following questions have been compiled from the most common inquiries received by our technical support:
How much does a smart home system cost? The cost varies depending on the size of the house and the desired scenario. There is a difference between automating just the living room lighting and automating the entire house (combi boiler, shutters, security). At Enoras, we provide a personalized budget for you with a free on-site discovery within Ankara.
What does "smart home on a phone" mean? It means being able to control the devices in your home (lamps, sockets, combi boiler) through an app on your mobile phone (eWeLink, Mi Home, etc.) from anywhere in the world, without touching a physical switch.
What are smart home products? The most popular products include: Smart relays (Sonoff Mini R4), smart sockets (S26), smart switches (touch wall switches), temperature/humidity sensors, and motorized curtain systems.
Will the smart home work if the internet goes down? Yes, it will. In the systems installed by Enoras (Sonoff, etc.), your physical wall buttons will continue to turn the lights on and off even if the internet is disconnected. You simply won't be able to control them remotely via phone. Devices with "LAN Mode" can still be controlled via phone within the house as long as the modem is running.
Problem Still Not Solved? Enoras Ankara is With You! If the wires are tangled, the devices aren't responding, or you simply don't want to take the risk, leave it to the experts. We provide professional installation and technical support services to every corner of Ankara.
